Videos from a Gaming Weekend

I just purchased a Flip video camera in preparation for filming at The Gathering and such.  Since I need to practice my video-filming and editing skills, I took the camera to a gaming weekend I attended and filmed some clips.  I promise to work on the jittery camera work (I think it's better with the final clip) and you'll have some fun video (as well as quite a bit of audio) to look forward to from The Gathering in April.

Enjoy!

Nice initial foray into the videographical arts, Doug! The video quality (when viewed in YouTube's "high quality") of the Flip's output is quite good.

Thanks Bay!  It's a fun new toy and I got the HD version, so the quality should remain high.  I promise to be a nit less jittery from now on.  If you haven't watched the Kullerbande video, THAT'S a game we are definitely going to have at the Garrett/Ganschow house!

Yeah, watching in high quality is the key. Is there a way to force that (or default to that) through the YouTube link?

No idea, Mark.  Glad you enjoyed the videos though!

You can force high-def by going to to the account link (which probably requires you to create an account).

I like the video. Suggestion: The one with the background music overpowered what was being said.

Also, I would like to see a deeper discussion about the games (I guess you can't do that for Kullerbande) while you are showing the pieces or the boards.

Thanks for the info on hi-def, Rob.

Sorry about the music - I wanted to try one with it and see what it was like.  For future videos I'll EITHER have only music OR no music.  The former will work for when I wander a room and if nothing's being said of merit.

As for your final comment:  it's something I'm interested in trying, but will probably connect audio podcast commentary with the video images as long videos take FOREVER to process.

    Look for more soon!

I enjoyed the music, even if it was a bit overpowering. Isn't every gaming event improved by adding banjos?
