Derk and Aldie of Boardgamegeek join me for Part 1 of a discussion of Derk's return to full-time geekdom.  We also discuss Derk's journey to the World Boardgame Championships (WBC) and it's contrast with BGG.con which is coming up.  Conflict of Heroes by Uwe Eickert from Elfinwerks and Pacific Typhoon by Ben Knight from GMT Games are discussed in depth.

At the end I sit down with three of my former students who have become avid gamers for a discussion of Galactic Emperor, a game designed by Adam West from CrossCut Games.  We had a good time with this game of roles a la Puerto Rico coupled with space battle royals - a great game to play with teen boys!
